Therapy that speaks to the BIPOC Experience

BIPOC Mental Health Matters!

It's no secret that the Black, Indigenous, and People of Color (BIPOC) community has a serious lack of representation and understanding, especially in the world of mental health. Society, media, and even in the medical field are showing some improvement, but minority groups are still grossly underserved based on an inadequate knowledge for their unique struggles, circumstances, and health issues.

At Insight Therapy, we take our commitment to supporting the needs of minority groups and empowering underserved community members very seriously. Which is why we are intentionally growing a team of providers who are not only culturally-sensitive, -curious, and -responsive, but also representative of the communities we support.

Some of the most common challenges we help clients navigate are:

  • Racial tension, discrimination, microaggressions, trauma
  • Explore code-switching, parentification, enmeshment in a cultural context
  • Role and identity confusion
  • Family expectation and roles
  • The immigrant and/or immigrant parent experience
  • Understanding cultural impacts on intimacy, spirituality, love languages, attachment
